BATHTUB CHIP REPAIR
Because Accidents Happen!
From hammers dropping into tubs, to soap dishes and towel bars falling off the wall, chips in bathtubs can happen in homes under construction, in homes just built, and in homes lived in for years! We've been refinishing bathtubs and repairing chips in bathtub for homebuilders and homeowners across DFW for many years. Bathtub chip repair is our specialty.
Being in the chip repair business for over 40 years means we've just about seen and done it all when it comes to repairing bathtubs. We also know all too well that there are good and bad workers in any industry, and unfortunately, the chip repair business is no different. That's why it's important to make sure the company YOU choose has lots of experience - and an abundance of good ratings online. To that end, just search online for Sharp Refinishing reviews. You'll find nothing but hundreds of 5-star ratings across all social platforms like GOOGLE, YELP, NEXTDOOR, and ANGI (formerly Angie's List).
We are Jim and Debbie Sharp, the husband-and-wife team of Sharp Chip Repair. Our small, family owned-and-operated bathtub chip repair company offices out of Colleyville, Texas and has been serving the bathtub chip repair needs of the DFW metroplex since 1980.
Why Choose Us? One of the things that makes us different from other bathtub chip repair companies is that we are not a franchise. We have a vested interest in our business, and since our last name - SHARP - is also part of our company name, we put it on the line every day. Jim has been repairing chips in bathtubs nearly every weekday for over 4 decades.
Jim is the owner of Sharp Chip Repair and the only one who does the repair work. I am Debbie, Jim's wife and the office manager, the one you will speak to when you call, and the one who will respond to your emails.
Porcelain, Fiberglass, and Acrylic Chip Repair
Location, Location, Location. It matters in chip repair. If a porcelain, fiberglass, or acrylic bathtub has chips, nicks, or scratches that are located above the water line, they can be repaired and expected to last (unless damaged again in the same area).
However, if the damage is located below the water line, a repair may not last for long. That's because repairs have exposed edges all the way around them, which makes them susceptible to lifting when under water, especially when the damage is located near the drain area where the water is coming out hard from the spout. Repairs located below the water line may eventually loosen and just float away.
It Takes an Expert
In most cases, professional tub chip repair means you won't be able to see the damage after the repair, but it takes years of experience to consistently achieve that kind of end result. Only a seasoned professional has the tools and skill to prepare and repair a damaged surface - and that's just the beginning of the process.
Color-matching is a big deal. In addition to preparing and repairing the damaged area, precision chip repair also requires expert color matching, because there are many 'shades' of white. Jim has decades of experience in color-matching, and truly has a great eye for color. It allows him to start out with a pure white color, then tint it on-site to match the color of the tub he is repairing.
After matching the color, the last step in chip repair requires an airbrush application carefully executed with a light and steady hand, feathering in the color to blend with the surrounding surface. Yes, there are a lot of steps to professional chip repair. If you want the best result possible, call Debbie at 817.305.0300 to schedule Jim.
